About Me

I have done a lot of things in my life and have also worked in many different jobs to make a living and to experience life. This blog is just some of my musings, sometimes funny, sometimes inspirational, sometimes sad, sometimes angry, sometimes simple but all the time, it's just me.

Healing power of forgiveness and much more

The act of forgiveness is incredibly powerful in its own right - it has the capacity to heal and transform.

If you have been hurt in the past and are hanging on to negative feelings, they can take their toll on your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Psychological effects include depression, tension, anxiety and stress. And even your cardiovascular, digestive, muscular and nervous systems can all be altered.

Many people hold on to feelings of anger or resentment towards others for weeks, months, years and some even the rest of their life. People usually blame someone else and fill themselves with rage, hurt, anger and bitterness. And this energy fills them, up and they assume the energy and the negative emotions become whom they are.

This becomes and good energy drain and which many term as soul leakage as you become less connected to your divine soul.

Once these emotions go away, they sometimes have suddenly nothing to hold on too because for a long time, all they have had is anger and resentment that they do not know how to love any more.

Forgiveness is about choice. It does not mean releasing people from the responsibility for their actions but a matter of releasing the anguish that your soul is carrying around.

Whether or not the person deserves to be forgiven, it does not matter. Just remember that without forgiving, what you are doing to your own divine self and soul.

By forgiving, you will be able to use your energy better in a healthier and productive way.

When you express forgiveness truly, you empower yourself to stop being the victim and you will begin to let go of any feelings that you were treated wrongly. And your ability to love and trust is enriched further as the emotions of hurt, bitterness and anger just dissolve.

Lewis B Smedes said, "To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you all along." (Lewis Benedictus Smedes was a renowned Christian author, ethicist, and theologian in the Reformed tradition. He was a professor of theology and ethics for twenty-five years at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. His 15 books, including the popular Forgive and Forget, covered some important issues including sexuality and forgiveness.)

To cut some etherical cords of attachment, bitterness, anger; you will first need to forgive and sometimes, it is easier said then done.

So, sometimes, you just need some words that make it easier and keep saying it over and over for days on end until you finally believe in it and you then move on. It is done.

Something that has been used previously by others include:
I now bring in the healing power of forgiveness.
I now forgive you and release you.
I release myself from emeotions of the past.
I forgive myself for accepting the belief pattern of pain and suffering.
My heart is now open to receive love in my life.

Of course my favorite that I use everyday to seek forgiveness and well to forgive is Ho'oponopono and Mornah Simeone's
Divine Creator, Father, Mother, Son as One,
If I, my family, relative and ancestors have offended
you, your family, relatives and ancestors in
thoughts, words, deeds and actions
from the beginning of out creation to the present
we ask for your forgiveness.
Let this cleanse, purify, release, cut all the negative
memories, blocks, energies and vibrations and
transmute these unwanted energies into pure light.
And it is done.

Some people do not have a problem forgiving others at all, but they have a problem forgiving themselves.

But when you feel guilty, you are also attracting punishment to your life and when the guilty feeling becomes stronger, you will even manifest these punishments and it will become true. So stop feeling guilty and beating yourself up over something you may have done wrong, forgive yourself.

Say the serenity prayer, seek to forgive yourself. Every time you make amends for the wrongs you have done, you begin a journey of healing yourself, your inner soul. The healing is not just for yourself but also for those you have done wrong.

Remember, we are all spiritual beings with an eternal soul but in our humanly bodies, we all make mistakes mainly because misguidance from our ego and it is only natural that sometimes you will make mistakes. But as long as you learn from your past mistakes and moving in a positive direction, you will be living and loving from your heart and soul.

Start this journey of forgiveness, of love, of gratitude.

I love you. Thank you. I am sorry. Please forgive me.

Take care and be well.

Forgiving is so freeing.
You are right, sometimes we have the hardest time forgiving ourselves.
There is someone in my life that I wish I could help them forgive another person, but their anger is not based on truth. First they have to understand the truth, then I believe that forgiveness will be close by.
It's not what really happened that matters, it's what you perceived that happened.
A great post!
