About Me

I have done a lot of things in my life and have also worked in many different jobs to make a living and to experience life. This blog is just some of my musings, sometimes funny, sometimes inspirational, sometimes sad, sometimes angry, sometimes simple but all the time, it's just me.

Rest of my life, rest of your life, rest of our lives.

I have no idea how long I'm going to live or when I will die and I don't really care at the moment what happens after I die. There is an afterlife, a presence in one form or another after we die, I do not know what form I will be but I've still got a life.

So, what will I do for the rest of my life, however long it is?

Among many things that cannot be put in a list, here are a few things that I will be doing:
  • 3 L's  - Love, Live and Laugh
    • Love - everyone and everything.
    • Live like I'm truly alive.
    • Laugh, I love to laugh and look for something that will make me laugh everyday.
  • Meditate daily.
  • Travel somewhere every year preferably somewhere new but not a rule.
  • Smile - something simple but a lot of people do not smile enough.
  • Teach - I would like to become a teacher - not necessary in a school.
  • Inspire - being inspired and inspiring someone else.
  • Dream - a lot of us stop having dreams when we grow up, but have dreams, I always have mine.
  • Exercise - this I really need to start doing .... maybe starting with Pilates in January.
As I said, there are a lot of things we can do the rest of our lives, but are we going to talk only or walk the talk?

What will you do the rest of your life?

The above poem was written by Joanna Fuchs and I modified or simplified it a little. This is how I would like to end my blog today, by dedicating it to someone special in my life.

I loved you before we wed,
I committed myself to you on that day,
and today I reaffirm to you
all the love, admiration, devotion, respect and gratitude
that I still feel for you.

You've been my shelter in stormy times,
my strength to meet life's challenges,
and an unending source of indescribable pleasure.
We had a great beginning, but the best is yet to come;
beautiful tomorrows filled with even more happiness.

I cross my heart and promise you
that I will love you forever.
I have perfect faith in us,
and I'm looking forward
to continuing the joyous journey
that we've been on together for 14 years
and forever more
for the rest of our lives.

Take care and be well.

Knowing that is the easy part. Implementing it is where the real task is.
