About Me

I have done a lot of things in my life and have also worked in many different jobs to make a living and to experience life. This blog is just some of my musings, sometimes funny, sometimes inspirational, sometimes sad, sometimes angry, sometimes simple but all the time, it's just me.

Vriksh ho bhale khade,
ho ghane ho bade,
Ek patra chhav bhi mang mat, mang mat, mang mat
Agneepath Agneepath Agneepath.

Tu na thakega kabhi,
tu na thamega kabhi,
tu na mudega kabhi,
Kar shapath, kar shapath, kar shapath,
Agneepath, Agneepath, Agneepath.

Ye mahaan drishya hai, chal raha manushya hai,
Ashru shwet raqt se
lathpath, lathpath, lathpath,
Agneepath, Agneepath, Agneepath.

English translation below from various sources. As my Hindi is not fantastic, I cannot verify which potrays the essence of the poem the best. The poem is supposed to describe the entire gamut of sufferings that the human race had gone through and is going through.

There are huge, shady trees standing all around
Many of them, many large ones
Even the shade of a single leave, Don't ask, don't ask, don't ask
The path of fire, The path of fire, The path of fire

You will not stop for a while,
You will not turn for a while,
You will not halt for a while,
Take this oath, take this oath, take this oath,
The oath of fire, The oath of fire, The oath of fire.

This is a great situation, the man/humanity walks along,
Tears, Sweat and Blood,
The swathe him, they swathe him, they swathe him,
The oath of fire, The path of fire, The path of fire.

OR

There may be trees all around
Standing proudly dense and tall
Don't seek for the shade of a single leaf
Walk on the Path of Fire, the Path of Fire, the Path of Fire

That you will not tire
That you will not halt
That you will not retreat
Take this vow, take this vow, take this vow,
On the Path of Fire, the Path of Fire, the Path of Fire

This is a noble sight,
that of a man marching forth
Swathed in tears ,swathed in sweat and swathed in blood,
Walking on the Path of Fire, the Path of Fire, the Path of Fire.

The poem above was written by Harivansh Rai "Bachchan" Shrivastav (November 27, 1907–January 18, 2003).

He was a distinguished Hindi poet of Chhayavaad literary movement (romantic upsurge) of early 20th century Hindi literature.

He was also a famous poet of Hindi Kavi Sammelan. He is best known for his early work Madhushala.

He is also the father of Bollywood superstar, Amitabh Bachchan.

Take care and be well.

Did the lychee drink keep you up dear?
This is such a strange poem...it's meaning feels so close, so familiar yet it eludes me completely.

I have not read any thing with such strong duality for quite a while.

Good one. if your writer's block produced this, you should get them more often...

:-) Go Uru's.

Bal.

B, Lychee drink did not keep me up. It is a strange but oh so familiar poem, we are consistently walking on a path of fire - but we can change to walk on any path that we choose.
Ser, it does look nice and serene :) Thanks. I was looking to change it but still try to keep it to the original color scheme I had earlier.
