About Me

I have done a lot of things in my life and have also worked in many different jobs to make a living and to experience life. This blog is just some of my musings, sometimes funny, sometimes inspirational, sometimes sad, sometimes angry, sometimes simple but all the time, it's just me.

There is no God but Allah

A good friend of mine (who happens to be a Muslim, not that it matters) who recently went to Morocco for a holiday sent me this email and pictures attached:-

I was in Tanger, Morocco in Nov 2009 recently and visited St Andrews church which is still in used, having being built in 1894.

It is an Anglican church.

Interestingly, framed by a delicate cusped arch, the recessed reredos of the sanctuary is facing towards Mecca
and on the altar stood a cross with a motif background in Arabic meaning "There is no God but Allah" (Ya Ilahi El Allah).

Men of understanding would rejoice at the congruence of faith and Godship.
see picture attached.

Now our super intelligent home minister is saying that we should not compare apples with oranges and other Muslim countries are different from the way Malaysia practices Islam.

Hmm, Mr Home Minister, firstly, we are comparing apples to apples i.e. the use of the word Allah in different Islamic countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Egypt, Morocco, Syria, Pakistan etc.

Secondly, there is only one Islam ... since when Malaysia started practicing a different Islam from the rest of the world baffles me.

Take care and be well.

Ya... you are so correct! But I think our countrymen wanted to be different or perhaps more correct than others.

So many anonymous comments nowadays, I guess I should restrict the anonymous. I do not agree with Brutus Balan. As for Indian Christians in India using Brahma to refer to god does not make sense because in Hindu, Brahma is not the only God. It is a trimurti, Brahma the creator, Vishnu the sustainer and Shiva the destroyer.
