About Me

I have done a lot of things in my life and have also worked in many different jobs to make a living and to experience life. This blog is just some of my musings, sometimes funny, sometimes inspirational, sometimes sad, sometimes angry, sometimes simple but all the time, it's just me.

10 things to make us happy

1. Savor Everyday Moments
Enjoy every little thing every day, savor the good times. Take time to smell a rose or see children play. Anything, but savor it. It's easy enough to do.

2. Avoid Comparisons
Comparing and complaining about the grass being greener on the other side, of someone earning more, anything. Stopping the comparisons will not be easy but will make you happier.

3. Put Money Low on the List
Put your other interests on the priority. People who put money high on their priority list are more at risk for depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem.

4. Have Meaningful Goals
Strive for something significant whether it is learning a new craft or something else.

5. Take Initiative at Work
Express creativity, help others, suggest improvements, or do additional tasks on the job. We can make our work more rewarding and feel more in control.

6. Make Friends, Treasure Family
We don;t need relationships, we need close ones. Close friendships and family can easily make us happy.

7. Smile Even When You Don’t Feel Like It
Laugh even. It sounds simple but it works to just smile even when you are down.

8. Say Thank You Like You Mean It
I keep a gratitude journal, everyday I am thankful for something. Say thank you to someone, be thankful for something, and mean it.

9. Get Out and Exercise
I am so happy when I run around and exercise with Al E on the beach. But in rain, I am still running around the house and playing with him. If you don't enjoy the gym, do something that you enjoy but do some exercise.

10. Give It Away, Give It Away Now!
Every year I give something to the needy. I am not rich, but I have enough that I feel I can share and when I share with the truly needy, I feel happy doing this.

Jen Angel writes about sustainable happiness and the 10 things above were taken off from her writings on sustainable happiness. The meat/details was my take on this and I am going to start doing things to make me happy.

Take care and be well.

This is a really good list. I find that thinking and doing something positive about someone ELSE'S pain greatly eases mine. Part of GIVE and give somemore me thinks...

We give in any way we can. Easing someone's pain is definitely a way of giving.
